A state-of-the-art ‘Jnanavahini’ Media Centre has been established in the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of Karnataka State Akkamahadevi Women University, Vijayapura. The Media Center is well-equipped for shooting and editing television and Radio programmes besides generating audio-video educational aids. This studio is exclusively used to provide practical training to the students of mass communication. In the studio there are two camcorders exclusively for shooting inside the studio and two cameras for outdoor shooting. The Media Center has video switcher which can take inputs from eight cameras and generate hundreds of virtual sets for presentation of news and discussion programmes. The audio mixer has provision for 16 input channels. The Media Center also has a voiceover room and a teleprompter. |

A large television studio, a post-production Control Room, film editing and remixing facilities, a radio studio and a large facility for audio-visual production becomes a resource centre to meet the skills and alent.
Postgraduate students from the Departments of Journalism and Mass Communication trained at the facility. The facility will help the staff and students in modern communication technologies. This Media Center is also used for generating educational contents, Women Success Stories, Documentaries on Women Issues, Awareness programs etc. The ambience of the Media Center is competitive and challenging, anticipating and preparing the students for the years ahead as producers and media persons.
