Department of Economics 


The Department of Economics is one of the pioneering Departments in Social Sciences. The Department of studies and Research in Economics was established in 2003. This is oldest department in this University. Since the last Nineteenth years, the department has been offering the Post Graduate, Diploma and Doctorate programmes to the students of this region. The Department has been progressing consistently in the field of teaching, research and extension activities in the field of Economics. The Department has been organizing many International and National seminars, workshops and training programmes in at all levels. It has been offering one- year Professional Diploma in Co-Operative Management (PGDCM) course to student. The department is well equipped with library and computer facilities. At present, there are three faculty members and most of them have completed the major and minor research projects funded by the UGC, ICSSR-IMPRESS–DST.NCW. etc.
