The Botanical Garden was established in the year 2016 in the land of Karnataka State Akkamahdevi Women’s University Campus. This facility is created to meet the scientific temper of life science especially in the botanical sciences. The garden sprawls over 2 acres of land providing diverse habitats and niches for a variety of plants. The garden holds many plants such as medicinal plants, xerophytes, fruit crops and ornamental crops. | |

It also contains special unit as greenhouses/polyhouses for the cultivation of plants under controlled environmental conditions. It gives a space to conduct research in the field of agriculture, horticulture, and plant sciences. The botanical garden is well equipped with irrigation facility and is devoted to plants preservation and display of a wide range of plants labeled with their botanical names. It often serves as an important centre for scientific research, conservation, and education for plant sciences. The botanical garden acts as an outdoor teaching environment to teach Plant Ecology, Plant Taxonomy, Plant Breeding and Pharmacobotany.
