ANANYA - Food Processing Training Centre

Ananya Food Processing and Training Centre is established under the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MOFPI), Government of India. The centre acts as a food incubation centre to facilitate the rural women and students to engage in self-entrepreneurial activities. Hands-on-training on development of value added products by using local food resources will be given to the participants. Along with this, the students of the Department of Food Processing and Nutrition will engage themselves in development of innovative food products in small scale as part of practical curriculum and sell their products within the campus. With this, the students are earning their income as well as getting rich experience of handling their produce and learning the marketing strategies. This will equip them in venturing their own food processing business.

The centre has MOU with AWAKE (Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Karnataka). The centre is involved in exhibition and sale of the products through participating in Food Fest events across the region. The students of the department had food stall in the eve of International Women’s Day and showcased and sold the food products developed by them. The value added products developed in the centre were exhibited in the National Conference of Indian Science Congress too.
